Information for hospitalizations

Reminder and information for hospitalizations

At the time of acceptance of admission, administrative staff may be asked to inform INPS of the opening of the disease.

The hospitalization in Day Hospital or Day surgery is for medical or surgical services that allow the patient to return to his home during the day. We recommend you to be accompanied for your return home.

What to bring for hospitalization

It is essential to take with you (to be handed over to the nurse coordinator) all reports of tests and diagnostic tests already carried out and any copies of medical records of previous admissions, even if carried out in other hospitals, and report on treatments followed and diets observed. The entire documentation will be returned at the end of the hospitalization.

It is advisable to bring non-rigid suitcases and only strictly necessary personal belongings  such as cotton underwear to wear on the day of the surgery, pajamas or nightgown, dressing gown, sportswear, white stockings, slippers and toiletries. You should not bring valuable things or excessive amounts of money.

The hospital does not assume responsibility for any loss or theft of goods left unattended.

There is a safe in the guest rooms for private/partner patients.

How to prepare for surgery

Tricotomy: depilate the area affected by the surgery. It is indicated to perform this operation in the hours closest to the surgery using electric shaver or depilatory cream, after making sure of dermatological compatibility by doing a skin test. It is contraindicated the use of the razor blade.

Personal Hygiene: Perform shower or bath cleaning preferably on the morning of the surgery or the evening before with soap cleaning.

Pay particular attention to the skin folds and navel. It is not recommended the use of talcum powder and creams after bathing. Give particular

attention to oral cavity hygiene.

Hospitalization

The patient is welcomed in the ward by the nursing coordinator. Nursing and medical teams are available for any hotel or clinic needs.

At the time of entry into the ward, the patient signs the informed consent, which consists in a knowledge and consequent acceptance of the procedures to which he will be subjected and of the possible risks connected with them.

During the whole day it is possible to have a private interview with the doctor in charge of the hospitalization.
